My latest project at work is documenting first-hand what is involved in learning to fly. I currently have 2.1 hours of instruction in the logbook.

Using cockpit cams, I am recording video from each flight and then editing it together with some personal thoughts. So far, it’s been a lot of fun and hopefully will help others see what it takes to earn a pilot’s license, I mean certificate. (that’s for you Kelly).
For a couple days, the blog is featured on the front page of EAA’s website, but later it can be found at www.eaa.org/wings.
Check in on my progress periodically and don’t be shy with your comments.

Eliana’s been chowing down on her first veggie this week - a ginormous acorn squash.
Next week…peas!

We made it home tonight after three days of driving back country roads admiring the never-ending canvas of trees.

The colors were unreal—the best Katherine and I have ever seen. We’ll post more photos later in the week.

We picked up Jeanette last night from MKE and are departing this morning for our annual fall foliage tour.

Fall is one of our favorite seasons and the colors here are spectacular!
In 2005 we went to the Bayfield area, 2006 to northern Minnesota and Canada, 2007 to Door County and this year we are heading to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
It seems the colors will be peaking there in a few days, so we should be in for a treat!
